군산 외대어학원이 추천하는 고등학교 영어시험대비의 정석

고등학교에서는 1년에 8번 시험을 봅니다.

5월, 7월, 10월, 12월 학교 내신 고사 4회와 3월, 6월, 9월, 11월 수능 모의고사 4회가 진행됩니다.

사실 방학을 제외하고는 학기 중에 매달 시험을 보는 것이지요.

예전에는 1학기 중간, 기말 2학기 중간, 기말 고사로 불리던 시험이 1차고사, 2차고사, 3차고사, 4차고사로 명칭이 바뀌었습니다.

내신 고사의 시험 범위는 교과서와 모의고사가 주를 이루며 몇몇 학교는 학교에서 선정한 부교재가 포함됩니다.

교과서만을 시험 범위로 하는 중학교와는 다르게 모의고사와 부교재를 포함한다는 점에서 시험범위가 훨씬 많아집니다.

사실 이 부분 때문에 중학교 때 교과서를 외워서 시험을 보던 학생들은 암기가 불가능해지고, 이해 중심으로 실력을 쌓은 학생들보다 더 많은 점수의 하락을 경험하게 됩니다.

모의고사와 부교재의 양은 교과서와는 비교가 되지 않을 만큼 많습니다. 대략 5배~7배정도....

또한 고등학교 내신 고사는 중학교보다 본문 변형문제가 훨씬 많기 때문에 본문 암기는 무력해집니다.

학습은 이해와 적용입니다. 암기는 창의성의 적이지요.

중학교 때부터 올바른 학습을 진행해야 하는 이유는 바로 고등학교 내신시험에서 나타납니다.

고교 내신 시험은 객관식 70~80점 / 서술형 20~30점 정도로 구성됩니다.

객관식은 첫째, 독해를 기반으로 하는 요지, 제목 찾기, 문장의 순서, 흐름과 관계없는 문장, 어법 등으로 구성됩니다.

이는 정확한 독해능력과 전체 단락의 핵심요지, 흐름을 이해하는 지문 이해력 두 가지 능력을 요구합니다. 약 50점~60점 정도의 비중을 차지합니다.

둘째, 어법과 어휘를 묻는 문제가 출제됩니다.

어법은 지문을 그대로 활용하는 경우가 많지만 어휘는 지문 어휘를 변형하거나 영영 사전 풀이에 맞는 단어를 정답으로 요구하기에 아이들이 많이 어려워하는 부분입니다. 약 20점~ 30점 정도의 비중을 차지합니다.

영영풀이에 맞는 단어쓰기는 일반 문장과 해석하는 방식이 조금 다르고 ( 주어 동사 목적어의 순서를 갖지 않고 줄여 씁니다 )

또 단어의 품사를 정확히 알아야 하는데 이에 대해서는 새로운 이해가 요구되기에 난이도가 높은 문항입니다.

서술형은 단답식과 영작으로 크게 구분됩니다. 

단답식에서는 어휘, 어법이 주로 출제되는 데 요즘은 어휘 부분이 점점 늘어나는 추세입니다. 비중은 10점~ 15점 정도입니다.

영작 서술형은 한글을 주고 영작하도록 하는데 단어를 일부 주기도 하고, 때로는 제시 단어 없이 영작하도록 합니다. 비중은 10점~15점 정도입니다.

영작의 경우 상당히 긴 시간의 영작 훈련이 되어 있어야 해결가능한 문제여서 가장 높은 난이도의 문제라 할 수 있습니다.

또한 배점이 높아 한 문제만 틀려도 1등급이 어렵기에 영작의 원리를 정확히 이해하여야 합니다.

모든 문제에는 답이 있고 답에는 해법이 있습니다.
